Dragonflies gathered and became flowers

Curator's Eye

Working with both watercolour and oil paint, Inkyung Seo urges the viewer to recognise diversity in the natural, human and spiritual world, believing that tolerance and unity will lead society to a life without crisis. A symbol of longevity in Korean folk paintings, strangely shaped rocks and plumes of flowers dominate the composition – leaving only the slightest space for the piercing blue backgrounds to seep into view.
