After her studies in history of art, she moved to London to pursue her education and her studio practice at Goldsmiths, University of London where she graduated from BA Fine Art with First Class Honours. Bayram’s sculptures bring together familiar objects in unfamiliar scenarios to explore their tangible materiality and to open them up to speculative narratives. The practicality and the initial purpose of familiar objects are disrupted to transform them into materials and to allow new subjective narratives to be imposed onto the sculptures. Within these sculptures, objects that are often overlooked in the everyday life such as white tiles demand attention alongside with luxurious objects like designer shoes. The contrast between these materials and their relation to each other lead up to a playful tension that results in the creation of new materiality and narratives. Architectural elements and familiar objects such as shoes, tiles and parquet flooring come together to create fictive spaces, in which they humorously play with push and pull of desire, the interchange of real images and constructed images, the pristine and the abject.
