Eurivaldo Bezerra was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is currently based in Chelsea, UK. Inspired by the complexities and challenges of Brazil, as well as its social issues, he is capturing elements of inspiring stories in an attempt to discover and communicate the true meaning of happiness in spite of the societal challenges. The diverse geographical portrait of Brazil has shaped his perception of beauty and spirituality within it, and whilst remaining true to his inner feelings and balance, he is constantly trying something new.
Photography must engage people. It should be beautiful, invoking a feeling of wonder and, most importantly, it must mean something. That is why he tries out different papers, long exposures, multiple exposures and so forth, in order to create new concepts. He also likes to manage every single step of the creative process and the promotion of his works from the editing to the Exhibitions and the final Book Design.
He became a Photographer in 2014, after practicing law for 19 years. Though this shift would appear as a dream to some, there are a lot of challenges in staying creative, productive and inspired every day. There are moments of true despair. However photography – in his eyes – is a type of meditation since it allows him to constantly work on his awareness of himself and inner changes as well as the surroundings.
As he stands behind the camera, he is able to experience even time differently since he is delving in this entirely different type of flow. When in flow, he feels connected to the world around him and he is able to find beauty everywhere and express himself truly. His aim is to draw the observers’ attention to social causes and inspire the society, and with this as an objective subjects, papers, layers, textures, long exposures and so on become nothing but brushes with which he can express his soul.
He has exhibited his work in various exhibitions in Brazil, Monaco and the UK.
