Francesca Borgo is a self-taught painter who was born in Northern Italy in 1970. She is based in Treviso, where she has her studio as well. Driven by the idealistic desire to envision a different future for humanity and the planet, she used her paint brushes and explored all possible scenarios using colours and her imagination. Inspired by abstract expressionists such as M. Rothko, J. Pollock; neo-expressionists like A. Kiefer; abstract artists such as Zao Wou-Ki and Julie Mehretu, and of course, J.M.W. Turner and C. Monet, she managed to turn her art from a hobby into a main activity as this was also her way to overcome a health issue which kept her home-bound for a while.
The subjects of her paintings and projects are carefully selected images of nature and revisited to portray the serenity she is trying to rediscover and sustain within herself and in her interaction with the world around her. She has exhibited her art in exhibitions all around Europe and has a lot of her artworks in private collections in the USA, England, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, Malta and Italy.
