“The combination of drawing, embroidery, pen line, and stitch are in harmony and together they make a form. Thousands of dots and lines connect like a skein of thread that construct the space. The points, lines, and planes created by drawing and embroidery let us imagine the canvas as outer space. From these innumerable dots and lines, which are spread out on the canvas both orderly and disordered, we can find its aesthetic value. This looks like a vast macro world, like a universe. On the other hand, it seems like a quite microscopic world, a dense cellular tissue.
For the artist, thread represents an ideal material that is able to portray the image of life force on canvas. The whole work process, which is labour-intensive, requires great effort and concentration. It is completed by making a stitch. The relief effect shown on the texture of the artwork is one of its outstanding features. the path of the thread alongside the line of the pen is an important element that one can feel when it is touched. The relief effect of the texture that appears through embroidery creates a three-dimensional effect, which is not seen in simple drawings. It allows us to feel the expansion of space”.
