About Maggie

Maggie Viegener is an Argentine architect and emerging freelance documentary photographer based in London, UK. Maggie’s work, whether personal or commissioned, takes a documentary approach and focuses on storytelling. Her background as an architect contributes to her constant search for detail, approaching a reflective form of practice in her stories.
In 2021, she graduated with a master’s Distinction degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from London College of Communication. During the Covid-19 pandemic, her photo-story “Coronavirus in Argentina” was published in one of the largest newspapers of Argentina (La Nación newspaper). In 2019, she was shortlisted for the Youmanity, “Friend-Ship” awards where her photo was to be exhibited at the Houses of Parliament in London. (Postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic).
Her interest in photography searches for a balance between behind-the-scenes imagery and aerial photography capturing the human story and exploring the relationship with both urban and natural landscapes. Drone photography becomes a tool to research and critique the urban and natural shifting landscape. Her search for new perspectives questions the boom of our visual culture.
