About Prasad

Prasad Beaven

Prasad is a young artist inspired by nature. Growing up in the foothills of the Himalayas this love for his surroundings started at an early age. This experience has deeply influenced him, however rather than rely on his memories he wishes to derive whatever inspiration he can from his present surroundings, for nature is beautiful in its many forms.

For this exhibition Prasad has been mostly working on location, where the impact of his inspiration is strongest. He seeks to express and capture the essence of the nature, not just what he sees, but the feeling of freedom he has surrounded by the swaying trees and chirping birds in the parks around him.

"The inspiration for my artwork comes from the nature around me. Most of my paintings have taken place in the park, surrounded by the chirping birds, fallen leaves and swaying trees. My art is a response to the trees, a communication that is always taking place. The trees to me express a state of being which is perfect and silent. They witness all yet remain unreactive, indifferent to the conflict that may surround them. I also see their growth towards the light in a spiritual way as a reflection of my own spiritual desire to ascend higher within. They begin this journey upwards with their roots firmly placed in the ground and make a steady ascent towards the light. Even though at times they may seem surrounded by darkness, the sunlight may flitter across a branch to inspire a sense of hope in the tree to continue this journey."
