Oh Jeong Il creates electric canvases through an incredibly intricate painting process, where hair-like strands of paint metaphorically express the microcosmic nature of humans and society. Black backgrounds add heightened drama, lending a greater luminosity and intensity to the objects that float weightlessly in the centre of the composition.
